Accretive Solutions’ Executive Search Practice has been engaged by one of its clients to recruit a Site Manager to join their team, located near Bedford, Indiana.

The Site Manager will effectively plan, direct, train and coordinate all plant departments and related service departments (accounting, purchasing, engineering & personnel) to achieve customer required goals profit, return on goal and system efficiency while meeting customer demand levels, goals and providing a safe work environment for all employees.

Responsibilities: 

1. In conjunction with top management, assist in the development and formulation of Company long and short range plans, policies, programs, operating procedures and objectives.
2. Through motivating techniques, delegation of appropriate authority and responsibility to staff to coordinate and expedite plant activities (operations, technical services, maintenance and services) and outside services such as training, employee relations, engineering, accounting and other related functions.
3. Maintain close contact over operations through use of reports, staff meetings, observation and personal contact to assure coordination and integration of workflow, interdepartmental communication, budgetary conformance, schedules and safety.
4. Direct, advise and otherwise expedite and solve plant problems by using plant staff and other staff services available within the Company or from vendors.
5. Coordinate and direct major projects, e.g. installation of new capital equipment, upgrading of facilities, major repairs and overhauls, etc.
6. Act as liaison between Management and all employee levels to keep personnel informed on matters of communications, decisions, policies and all other matters affecting their performance, attitudes and results.
7. Direct and coordinate various programs essential to efficient plant operations, e.g. training, safety, housekeeping, work simplification, cost reduction, wage and salary administration, plant protection, worker involvement, etc.
8. Maintain up-to-date job descriptions, salary and wage program and employee performance appraisal systems for training and compensation purposes.
9. Administer the collective bargaining agreement and/or Company handbook and policies
10. Plan and determine manpower requirements.
11. Supervise the preparation of reports for management information.
12. Establish and maintain a well trained work force by making sure that proper instruction and guidance are made available to employees through formalized training programs, on the job instruction and counseling.
13. Coordinate activities of other departments as necessary.
14. Maintain accurate records.
15. Observe and appraise the performance of each member of the department, make recommendations for wage increases, promotions and transfers based on the knowledge of each employee’s performance and work habits. Administer disciplinary action when necessary.
16. Responsible for maintaining all aspects of the department’s budget.
17. Performs any and all other duties, tasks and responsibilities which may be assigned by authorized personnel.

Requirements: 

• High School Graduate and minimum of 5+ years of supervisory experience
• College Degree is a plus
• Sufficient understanding of plant operations and general business knowledge required
• Candidates without recent supervisory experience will not be considered
• Must have Class D Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certification
