Financial Reporting Manager (Chicago)

Candidate must have 2+ years’ Audit Assurance experience with public clients straight out of Big 4 public accounting. Responsibilities: 

Prepares and submits regulatory reports. Assists in maintaining the Bank’s general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts, including preparing and posting adjusting journal entries throughout the month and closing journal entries as part of the month end close. Prepares daily and monthly reconciliations of various general ledger accounts through interpretation and analysis of underlying financial data.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepares schedules to support regulatory reports to the Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Federal Reserve Bank and Federal Home Loan Bank that include, but are not limited to, quarterly reports on Form 10-Q, annual reports on Form 10-K, the quarterly Call Report, FR Y-9C, FR Y-9LP, FR Y-8 and Qualified Collateral Reports.
• Prepares and analyzes financial statements on a monthly basis, including income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
• Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and bank procedures.
• Documents business transactions.
• Supervises assigned staff positions on a day-to-day basis
• Prepares and posts general ledger journal entries to Prologue, the accounting software.
• Interprets and analyzes financial information posted to general ledger accounts.
• Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports. Includes month end expense analysis.
• Researches balance sheet items and income/expense fluctuations utilizing various systems and information sources.
• Effectively communicates with other bank departments in order to obtain necessary information to accurately resolve open items on a timely basis.
• Executes ad hoc projects as assigned by manager.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years' Big 4 experience
• Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Excel, MS Word, and Access Databases
• Familiarity with Prologue, Fiserv Signature and Call Reporter Premier is advantageous
• Ability to work well under deadlines
• CPA Preferred, but Not Required
• This position interacts with several different areas of the company on a daily basis and requires a high level of organization, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ideal candidate should enjoy working in a team environment, and have an interest in learning the financial reporting processes of a multi-billion $ financial institution.

Chief Financial Officer/Controller of Family Office

Accretive Solutions’ Executive Search Practice has been engaged by a Private client to recruit a Chief Financial Officer to join their team, located in Miami, Fl. Our client is Based in Miami and reporting to the Family’s Principals, the CFO will have overall financial and administrative responsibility for the family Office, and will work closely with family members to achieve family’s overall financial and philanthropic objective(s).

Responsibilities: 

• Develop best in class leadership team within finance, administration and legal that can continue to build family office excellence.
• Overall responsible for investment of the family , mainly:
- Identify, review, analyze and recommend various direct and co- investments in real estate, operating projects, pre IPO opportunities, private equity, convertible debts etc.
- Participate the Investment Committee calls and reviews
- Negotiate the deal prices and terms, review the contracts and other legal documents.
- Arrange, coordinate and negotiate the loans and mortgages.
- Help manage and continuously review the progress of these investments.
- Invest liquid cash.
• Overall responsible for the financial operations of the family office including overseeing following staff functions:
- Maintaining proper accounting records, reconciliations and regular reporting of financial transactions of family members, Trusts, Foundations, investments, partnerships, funds, etc.,
- Oversight of month-end closes, including responsibility for the general ledger and production of internal financial statements, along with financial reporting and analysis for subsidiaries/affiliates.
-Tax planning and tax compliance (tax filing, tax payments etc.) for all family members, trusts, educational trusts, foundations etc.
-Help Board of Directors of the family foundations for the effective operations of the foundations and to comply with the tax regulations related to foundations.
- Manage bill payments, payroll, health insurance, property and liability insurance.
-Ensure all regulatory compliance (Tax, SEC, DOL,) for all entities.

Requirements: 

• Educational Qualification: BA in Accounting with CPA/ CA degree, MBA from well know institute is an added advantage but not must. Reasonable knowledge of US taxation, related to individuals, trusts and private foundation is required.
• Experience: About 15 years’ overall experience with over 5 years’ experience as CFO of medium to large corporation, managing the Finance and Administration functions. Experience working for family office is preferred though not must.
• Other Qualities: Outstanding listening skills, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit, strong in ethics and integrity. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, strong oral and written communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills, ability to work effectively with multiple family generations, individuals and organizations, ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures and excellent negotiation skills.
