Sr. Internal Auditor

RGP’s Consulting Practice has been engaged by one of its clients to provide a Sr. Internal Auditor for a long-term project, located in the Greater Detroit area. The Internal Auditor will be responsible for executing the annual audit plan and providing recommendations for improvements in controls and processes.

Responsibilities: 

• Perform financial, operational, and compliance audits.
• Assess internal controls and maintain internal control documentation
• Design and perform tests of controls
• Report any identified deficiencies and coordinate remediation and re-testing as needed
• Help prepare high quality reports on findings.
• Work with process owners to adapt controls to address changes in the business
• Help maintain a partnership with internal customers throughout the audit process and ensure the Internal Audit Team is seen as a group of trust professions that execute value-added process.
• Keep current on new control standards and best practices and impart knowledge to others

Requirements: 

• 5+ years’ experience in internal audit required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or CIA certification preferred
• Public Accounting experience preferred (minimum of 2 years)

IT Audit Consultant

The IT Audit Consultant will work under limited supervision, supporting internal and external IT audits. Design and develop audit procedures, and review and evaluate work of associates within and outside of the Audit Department. Recommend and submit reports on identified corrections and controls in need of improvement.

Responsibilities: 

• Participate in planning, testing and reporting phases of assigned IT audits and act as the IT resource for the integrated audits
• Manage audit deliverables in accordance with pre-determined due dates
• Analyze the IT environment to evaluate application and infrastructure risks and controls
• Develop and execute tests to identify control weaknesses, document deficiencies and provide recommendations to enhance business and technology operations
• Help to present findings to client management and negotiate suggested action plans
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by exceeding expectations and demonstrating detailed knowledge of the clients business and technical environment
• Participation in special projects or other duties as assigned.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Administration or Accounting field
• 1-3 years of IT, Internal Audit, IT Security, IT Compliance or related experience preferred, but can train
• Understanding of business related to IT general controls, systems / applications development, change management, logical security, contingency and recovery, and related areas
• Excellent analytic, oral and written communication skills
• Open to minimal travel requirements (5% - 10%)
• Exposure to the Sarbanes-Oxley, COSO, ISO27001/ISP27002, NIST Cybersecurity, COBIT, PCI or related frameworks
• Knowledge / understanding of IBM Mainframe environment, databases (distributed and/or centralized), Networks, Firewalls, Operating Systems, and/or other relevant IT Infrastructure components
• Experience using audit software tools and security scripts
• CISA, CISSP or other relevant certification (e.g., CIA, CPA) desired
• Experience in / Exposure to Financial Services or Public Accounting a plus.
