Senior Analyst – Whole Loan Monetization (NYC)

Accretive Solutions’ Executive Search Practice has been engaged by an excellent global asset management company to recruit a Senior Analyst – Whole Loan Monetization to join their team, located in New York City. Candidate must have 2-3 years’ whole loan monetization experience, Advanced Excel, and a GPA of 3.5 or higher. The company is growing and established, has a great culture, and excellent benefits. Salary range $85-95K + 20-30% bonus.


The Analyst, Whole Loan Monetization is responsible for assisting the trading desk with the financing, securitization and monetization of Whole Loan Mortgage packages. Responsibilities include settling whole loan securitization and sales transactions by managing transaction timelines and reviewing due diligence results. This is a highly visible and challenging role, offering interaction with multiple teams at all levels of management. The successful candidate will also gain direct experience working with the asset management team to execute fund monetization and financing plans.

Essential Functions:
• Partnering with the deal lead, servicer and asset management team to execute whole loan sales and securitizations
• Managing post close side letters for collateral, title and other issues
• Creating and maintaining loan level deal status reports for the trading desk
• Reviewing collateral, compliance, title and valuation due diligence results from purchasing entities
• Interfacing with whole loan portfolio buyers and vendors to review and interpret due diligence results
• Keeping track of live transaction timelines
• Interfacing daily with servicer on current trades as well as potential trades to be marketed
• Interfacing with mortgage custodians and internal/external counsel on deal related issues
• Creating slides, charts and tables for various internal meetings and investment committee presentations


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• High attention to detail and accountability in analytical assessments, but with the aptitude to maintain a big picture perspective
• Financial modeling and quantitative skills
• Excellent project management and problem solving skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple trades and projects
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with all levels of management
• Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team
• Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment with low to moderate supervision

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or related business field preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Math or Computer Science but with professional experience in the mortgage industry also considered

• 0-3 years of progressive work experience in the structured finance space specializing in residential mortgages
• Experience in a fast-paced investment bank, hedge fund or private equity firm preferred
• Experience with reviewing and interpreting due diligence results

Other Skills:
• Proficiency and efficiency in Excel, including ability to summarize data via formulas, lookups, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting, etc.
• Experience with Collateral Analysis System (CAS)
• Knowledge of programming in SQL/VBA highly desirable

Work Environment:
• Job operates in a professional office environment
• Role generally requires long hours – 50+ hours per week

Travel Requirements:
• Position does not require frequent travel
