Sr. Tax Accountant

Accretive Solutions’ Executive Search Practice has been engaged by an Oil & Gas client to recruit a Sr. Tax Accountant to join their team, located in the Las Colinas area. Ideal candidate will have experience with ASC 740.

Responsibilities: 

• Work with other departments to compile and analyze information to prepare Federal and State compliance forms including: 1120, 1065, 990-PF, 720, annual reports and all related state returns and reports.
• Prepare workpapers and perform calculations to prepare ASC 740 tax accrual on a quarterly basis.
• Assist Senior Tax Manager with analysis of tax basis property reconciliation.
• Assist with quarterly tax and AMT depreciation calculations.
• Communicate with various Federal and State authorities and outside tax consultants related to ongoing audits and provide documentation as requested.
• Assist other team members with routine tasks and special projects as needed.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 3 years public accounting or oil & gas accounting experience
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Solid Federal and State tax compliance experience required
• Partnership experience a plus
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Substantial ASC 740 experience a huge plus

Senior Accountant (Irving)

Accretive Solutions’ Executive Search Practice has been engaged by an excellent Fortune 500 company to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their team, located in Irving. Candidate must have 3+ years’ accounting/financial analysis experience. Also must be technically savvy, use Excel macros, and be comfortable with large sets of data. CPA+. Responsibilities: 

• Process month-end accounting and billing processes and facilitate billing accuracy with company’s Billing Team;
• Complete internal accounting close checklists and support external audit requests;
• Perform finance review on the price and rebate updates and validation for supplier rebates calculation;
• Support supplier contract management and contract documentation for price changes;
• Research and resolve discrepancies with ambiguous data, providing timely resolution with minimal supervision;
• Ability to accurately interpret complex agreements and supplier price notifications, understand contract key elements and determine business and financial implications;
• Utilize various system applications to set up rebates and manage the business mapping;
• Review supplier contract metadata in contract repository and publish the information for other users;
• Assist in interpreting business needs for the creation of technology solutions;
• Partner with Contract Compliance team to support internal and external audits;
• Work with internal partners and provide support for supplier strategic rebate programs;
• Process purchases in SAP and liaison with accounting team for proper treatment
• Track PPA activity and distribute report activity.
• Support special projects, including process improvement, system enhancement, ad-hoc analysis, business initiatives.

Requirements: 

Qualifications for the Position - Education/Training
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with a concentration in Finance or Accounting

Minimum Requirements
3 years of accounting or finance experience

Expected Competencies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Solid knowledge and understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP)
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excel skills including proficiency with pivot tables, v-lookups, data analysis, charts, etc…
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage competing priorities
• Ability to manage small-scope projects or engagements
• Financial Integrity

Additional Knowledge/Skills:
• SAP experience or other type of large ERP system
• Basic SQL skills
• Troubleshoot user interfaces of proprietary systems
• Experience working in a team environment
