Accounts Payable Manager

Accretive Solutions’ Executive Search Practice has been engaged by a healthcare client to recruit an Accounts Payable Manager to join their team, located in the Las Colinas area. Ideal candidate will have experience setting up policies and procedures and managing a small team.

Responsibilities: 

• Supervises the processing of vendor invoices
• Checks for adequate and complete documentation for each transaction
• Establishes and modifies appropriate purchase order transactions to substantiate pricing and receipt information. Maintains all required documentation. Closes purchase orders on a routine basis to ensure elimination of unnecessary general ledger accruals.
• Regularly reviews unprocessed invoices to determine payment status and resolution and to verify legitimacy of transactions. Communicates with vendors to validate accurate accounts payable balances.
• Establishes new vendors and updates vendor information to include shipping addresses and W-9’s.
• Manages the 1099 reporting process to ensure accurate and timely reporting, and to avoid penalties.
• Reconciles vendor statements on a routine basis to ensure appropriate payables balances in the ERP system.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact Accounts Payable and Purchasing. Develops effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable state and federal laws.
• Creates, implements, and revises Accounts Payable and Purchasing policies to support the work processes within Accounts Payable and Purchasing.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 6+ years experience managing accounts payable
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and financial ERP software - Sage preferred

Senior Accountant

Our client in Boulder, Colorado is seeking a Senior Accountant is responsible for performing month end closing journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis, GL analysis and bank reconciliations. Provides management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts and preparing financial statements.

Responsibilities: 

• Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
• Maintains and balances an automated consolidation system by inputting data; scheduling required jobs; verifying data.
• Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.
• Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
• Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.
• Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Provides accounting support for mergers and acquisitions by reviewing financial information; converting data to general ledger system; obtaining supplementary information for preparing financial statements.
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. 4 to 5 years’ experience in Accounting or Finance role.. Public Accounting firm audit experienced or Public Company experience preferred. Experience with SQL and Excel is preferred, but not required.
