Detroit Tax Analyst / Senior Analyst

We have a new position in our group for a Tax Analyst or Senior Analyst. The role includes Corporate Income Tax Compliance, Sales/Use and Property Tax Compliance and other Tax Department needs.

Primary Responsibilities:
Corporate Income Tax Returns
• Assist in preparing the consolidated federal corporate income tax return.
• Prepare the Canadian corporate income tax returns for the Canadian subsidiary.
• Compile sales, payroll, fixed asset and inventory data to determine the state apportionment
factors used in preparing the state income tax returns.
• Prepare the corporate state income tax returns.
Sales and Use Tax
• Compile monthly sales and tax figures by state and run tax queries.
• Work with third party administrator in preparing monthly sales tax returns and validate payment
where appropriate.
• Research items purchased and determine taxable / tax exempt status.
• Prepare company exemption certificates related to vendor purchases when required.
• Reconcile sales tax liability accounts monthly.
• Provide sales and use tax guidance to branches.
• Provide support for sales and use tax audits as needed.
Property Taxes
• Gather fixed asset data for the third party administrator to prepare annual personal property
tax returns.
• Submit real estate and personal property tax bills to third party administrator to validate tax
assessment and verify with property return as to value.
• Remit amount owed related to personal and real estate tax bills making sure the bill is charged
to the appropriate branch.
• Adjust property accrual balances either annually and/or on a semi-annual basis.
Other Duties
• Work with Senior Tax Analyst in maintaining the tax depreciation records and compile the
necessary information to compute tax gain/loss for the quarterly tax provision calculation.
• Support North America tax department as needed.

Requirements: 

Education and Experience Requirements
• Highly motivated individual with ability to work independently.
• Experience of 1 to 3 years in tax with a degree in accounting.
• Experience with general accounting systems (Le. SAP).
• Good computer knowledge (Le. Microsoft Excel)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability To:
o Meet deadlines and work in a team environment
o Multi-task
o Establish priorities
o Adapt to change

Senior Systems Analyst

RGP is looking for a consultant that can lead functional and technical discussions within various areas of operations. This resource must be able to define, document and translate functional requirements into technical designs, providing support and guidance to various teams. This resource needs to be an AGILE execution focused resource.

Responsibilities: 

This resource must have strong systems based analytical skills, LARGE Scale implementation experience with the key focus being around data modeling and necessary changes. This resource needs to be a solid communicator with the ability to present in front of project teams and leadership.

Requirements: 

Bachelor’s Degree
Will review and support data model changes for adherence to their documented source to target specifications (in some instances apply changes to iODS Erwin data models)
• Provide input to planning activities to estimate effort to complete sprint planning and execution tasks/activities
• Defines, develops and executes source to target mapping test cases to verify data is being extracted, transformed and loaded accurately to-and-from the iODS
• Will be on point to triage and identify root cause data defects detected during component integration, system integration and user acceptance testing
• Will be on point to define test data sets that will be used to compare expected versus actual results of test code execution
• Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Visio skills to support source to target mapping definition, data analysis, documenting detailed data flows and presentations
• Fast starter, effectively delivers with limited supervision
• Strong command of the written and spoken English language in order to facilitate data mapping, data design, development and defect remediation
Preferred
• Experience in Agile / SCRUM (with sprints) methodologies
• Experience in large scale implementation of Data Warehouse/Operational Data Store
• Experience with Version One and Blue Print requirement management tools as well as HP Quality Center testing tool
