Global Insurance Manager (Dallas)

Accretive Solutions’ Executive Search Practice, now a part of RGP, has been engaged by an excellent global asset management company to recruit a Global Insurance Manager to join their team, located in Dallas. Considering candidates with 3+ years’ performing insurance transactions in a professional capacity either for an insurance brokerage firm servicing commercial clients or for a company’s risk management/insurance department. ClearSIght database, property and casualty, and broker insurance and underwriting experience preferred. Should have experience working with mid-to-large accounts. Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to lead the efforts of the Global Insurance Management Department (“Department”) in supervising the executive liability and cyber liability placements for operating companies; consulting with operating company management teams regarding the placement of property and casualty insurance policies; collecting operating company policy information for the Department database; reporting the performance of operating company insurance programs to asset management; and administering the general partnership liability, crime and cyber liability placements for the Company.

Essential Functions:
The Manager, Operating Company Risk Management has primary responsibility within the Company to:
• Supervise marketing and placement of operating company directors and officer liability, employment practices liability, fiduciary/pension liability, crime, and cyber liability insurance to ensure policies meet or exceed Department standards;
• Consult with operating company management teams over the placement of workers compensation/employers liability, general liability, commercial auto, umbrella/excess liability, and environmental liability insurance policies;
• Analyze data on loss history and exposures to advise operating companies on the benefits and drawbacks of loss sensitive programs for workers compensation/employers liability, general liability, and auto liability coverage;
• Manage collateral held by insurance companies for operating company loss sensitive insurance and surety bond programs;
• Collect insurance policy information including limits, retentions, exposures, and premiums for entry into ClearSight database;
• Prepare reports for asset management on the performance of operating company insurance programs by using key performance indicators and by benchmarking operating companies against each other and against peers in their respective industries;
• Serving as an advisor to Company’s asset managers on insurance and risk management issues facing operating companies under their purview;
• Managing relationships between the Company and the insurance brokerage firms providing services to operating companies; and
• Provide administrative support for the placement of the Company’s general partnership liability, crime and cyber liability programs by compiling underwriting information, preparing submissions, and reviewing binders, policies and invoices.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Supporting the AVP, Insurance Operations Unit on the entry of policy data into the Clearsight database;
• Supporting the AVP, Corporate and Americas Regions Insurance and AVP, Europe Region Insurance in the due diligence of prospective investments;
• Supporting Director of Litigation on lawsuits or claims involving operating companies implicating Company and/or operating company insurance programs; and
• Working with in-house counsel and asset managers within the Company to review and make changes to the insurance requirements, loss limitation, and indemnification sections of contracts involving operating companies with special emphasis on lending agreements.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of commercial insurance policies including but not limited to a thorough understanding of common terms and conditions, the scope of coverage, and the process for underwriting and servicing such policies;
• Ability to create insurance submissions and develop marketing plans for various commercial insurance policies based on knowledge of the underwriting process as well as an understanding of the underwriting preferences of major insurance companies;
• Hands-on experience managing retail and/or wholesale insurance brokers on the marketing and placement of commercial insurance policies;
• Strong problem solving skills with the ability to analyze and explain complex data through written and verbal presentations;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and service providers in a global setting;
• Flexibility to complete assignments requiring collaboration with individuals located in different time zones across the world;
• Ability to pay attention to detail, prioritize work and manage time in a deadline-driven environment; and
• Dedication to working in a team environment where transparency and collaboration are highly valued.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required with preference given to completion of or significant coursework towards one of one the following:
• A graduate degree in business, risk management, insurance, law, or accounting/finance; or
• CPCU, CIC, CRM, or other equivalent designation.

• 3+ years of work experience performing insurance transactions in a professional capacity either for an insurance brokerage firm servicing commercial clients or for a company’s risk management/insurance department

Computer Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Experience with or ability to use risk management information systems (RMIS)

Work Environment:
• This job operates in a professional office environment
• This role generally requires long hours – 40+ hours per week

Travel Requirements:
• This role does not require frequent travel, less than 10%
