Accretive Solutions’ Executive Search practice has been engaged by one of its clients to recruit a Senior Auditor to join their team, located in the Metro Detroit area.

The Senior Auditor will be responsible primarily for conducting financial, operational, and compliance audit. This positon will also be responsible for planning and completing assigned audit projects and may serve as the lead auditor when performing audits with other audit personnel.

Responsibilities: 

• Initiate and perform follow-up reviews on audit findings to ascertain whether appropriate actions have been taken by management. Maintain the database for all follow-up reports to management.
• Assist in the assessment of risks associated with the organization for the development of the audit plan.
• Coordinate the timing of assigned workplan projects to ensure their completion within the plan year and within budget.
• Conduct and supervise internal audit assignments from planning through reporting.
• Ensure that audit practices are consistent with standards developed for the department and that audit reports are accurate, concise and timely.
• Compose well-written reports to summarize fact-based audit findings and provide practical business recommendations.
• Furnish management personnel with analysis and appraisals gathered through internal audits.
• Provide recommendations and obtain agreements with management personnel in an effort to rectify deficiencies identified during the audit.
• Perform special investigations or other projects supporting management. Assist the external audit firm in the execution of the year-end financial statement audit.
• Present in-service training sessions on topics relevant to the work plan.
• Establish relationships with key members of management and certain operation entities and serve as a liaison between Audit and those entities.
• Conduct research on topics relevant to the audit area, utilizing research resources available online or through other means.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting, MBA preferred
• CPA or CIA Certification preferred
• 3+ years of combined public accounting, internal audit and/or financial operations experience
