Senior Manager, Consulting - Accounting & Finance

The Senior Manager is involved in many aspects of the business including client relationship management, engagement and staff management, quality of delivery, technical responsibilities and internal commitments. The Senior Manager is a trusted advisor to the client. (S)he proactively contributes to the development of their respective practice area. The Senior Manager has an advanced level of technical competency across a broad range of areas or outstanding technical competency related to one Accretive Solutions service offering.


• Effectively communicate with client and Project Manager/Accretive Solutions Practice Director/VP to understand and document priorities and work status
• Effectively communicate project objectives and status to team members, if managing a project
• Develop a thorough understanding of the client's business and culture in order to better support the client's strategic objectives
• Demonstrate commitment to client success. Develop a thorough understanding of the project scope, tool and skill sets required
• Develop, document and execute work plan/project plan while meeting agreed upon deadlines and commitments
• Prepare, delegate if appropriate, and review client deliverables
• Work effectively with client personnel and be positive and respectful in all client interactions
• Support client and project team with timely response to information requests & seek/communicate ways to improve client satisfaction
• Leverage client and Accretive Solutions subject matter experts (SME) to execute the project effectively
• Use, administer and promote company practices, standards, procedures, tools and methodologies
• Complete a knowledge transfer to appropriate person at appropriate time in the project
• Manage day-to-day project activities, take ownership of work, and follow tasks through to completion
• Supervise project teams (multiple clients at times) and provide appropriate training to client staff
• Build consensus with client management and provide strategic leadership to the client and project team members
• Act as primary on-site liaison between Accretive Solutions and all levels of client management, as required

Internal Responsibilities
• Effectively interact with and support other Accretive Solutions consultants, management and internal staff
• Perform all necessary administrative responsibilities in a timely manner (e.g. Timesheet and expense report submission, response to e-mail and voice-mail, forecasting of upcoming availability, etc.)
• Proactively communicate status of work to Accretive Solutions direct Manager on the engagement
• Attend and actively participate in company sponsored seminars and training, internal meetings, etc.
• Use Corporate Accretive Solutions communication standards in all communications representing the firm and comply with Accretive Solutions policies and procedures
• Embrace Accretive Solutions vision, values and mission statement and contribute to achievement of Accretive Solutions goals and objectives
• Escalate HR issues and employee relations concerns to HR/management

Staff Development
• Assist, coach, manage and lower level consultants and new hire/project members, as required
• Monitor performance of lower level consultants, advise them and communicate observations and recommendations to appropriate manager
• Provide project level performance evaluations for lower level consultants, as required

Practice Development
• Develop and present practice area specific training as requested by Accretive Solutions management
• Propose new delivery tools and methodologies to Accretive Solutions management and assist in developing delivery tools as requested by Accretive Solutions management; contribute tools to the Knowledge Management site
• Keep abreast of new trends and developments in practice area in order to provide competitive service offerings to clients


• Bachelors degree or equivalent degree, Masters degree preferred
• CPA required
• 7+ years experience with progressive responsibility in accounting / audit
• 5+ years of professional services experience; Big 4 preferred
• Background in technical accounting, revenue standards / revenue recognition required
• Background in lease accounting preferred
• Experience in multiple industries and practices that align with local industry verticals that Accretive Solutions serves, preferred
• Active member/volunteer in professional or community organization preferred
