Sr. Director - Revenue Accounting Services

Accretive Solutions is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial professional services organization with offices across the United States. To lead our Revenue Accounting Services consulting practice, and grow it to the next level, we are seeking a Sr. Director for our Mountain View or San Francisco office.

Join our team and be part of a growing and successful professional services firm providing consulting in the areas of accounting and finance, business technology and enterprise governance with local offices in San Francisco and Silicon Valley.

The Sr. Director is responsible for all aspects of Revenue Consulting Services. This includes the development of practice strategy, delivery collateral, technical expertise, sales strategy, team mentoring, technical expertise, client and engagement management, as well as delivering services directly to clients.


Strategy Development:
 Work closely with our Accounting & Finance VP in the development, execution, and taking our Revenue Accounting Services practice to the next level in the San Francisco Bay Area.
 Define go-to-market strategy for upcoming changes in the Revenue Accounting domain.

Business Development:
 Individually or in partnership with Client Development Managers, generate revenue for Revenue Accounting practice.
 Establish and expand working relationships with clients.
 Participate in proposal development, RFP responses, meetings, etc.
 Attend meetings with clients and prospective clients as a subject matter expert to define and scope needs.

Recruiting/Staff Development:
 Define specific consultant profiles to hire.
 Work closely with the recruiting team and participate in the interview process.
 Fulfill the role of Career Development Advisor for designated consultants; mentor and guide consultants on their career development.

Technical Expertise:
 Provide technical expertise in all aspects of Revenue Accounting domain including technical accounting, revenue operations and revenue systems.
 Be a technical resource to consultants and clients.
 Develop and own consulting tools and methodologies for project delivery.
 Develop, own, and deliver training to consultants on related topics.

Engagement Management and Client Delivery :
 Proactively guide the client on strategic issues, leading strategic projects as appropriate.
 Capable of engaging in complex projects outside of “comfort zone” and demonstrating commitment to successful completion.
 Take full ownership of client satisfaction and relationship.
 Manage a portfolio of clients.
 Actively manage and deliver Revenue Accounting related projects independently or with fellow team members.
 The successful candidate will have the ability to scale between engagement management and hands-on delivery.


 Accounting / Finance related Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree desirable
 15+ years experience with progressive responsibility, including leadership experience, in Revenue Accounting.
 Experience with complex revenue arrangements, ASC 606 assessments, Revenue system implementation preferred.
 Expert level, comprehensive and up-to-date technical US GAAP knowledge around software revenue recognition with aptitude for technical accounting research.
 7+ years of consulting experience preferred.
 7+ years of experience managing a team required.
 Experience managing and developing a practice in a professional services firm strongly preferred
 Public accounting and private industry experience preferred
 Exceptional interpersonal, communication, collaborative and influencing skills
 Strong problem solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
 CPA preferred, but not required
