RGP/Accretive Solutions’ Executive Search Practice has been engaged by one of its clients to recruit a Technical Accounting Manager to join their team, located in the Greater Detroit area.

The Technical Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day Technical Accounting for the company. This role will be responsible for utilizing strong accounting knowledge to perform analysis, research unusual trends or variances, and resolve issues as they arise in order to present findings/recommendations to leadership.


• Manages processes related to GAAP and Statutory monthly book close, including general ledger accounting entries, analyses and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with the Investment Accounting policy team to research accounting and financial reporting requirements on a GAAP and statutory basis and recommend accounting treatment for transactions based on such research and document accordingly.
• Assist in the annual audit and quarterly review activity with external auditors.
• Recommends and implements process improvements to increase efficiency in processing, the control environment, or analyzing financial information.
• Assist with the management of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance.
• Partner with other departments on special projects and strategic initiatives as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement and a commitment to a strong internal control environment.
• Provide technical accounting support to the organization regarding GAAP including special projects related to purchase accounting, leasing, tooling, etc.…


• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA Certification required
• 6+ years of relevant experience ideally in Big 4 public accounting as well as industry
